8. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
8.1 Preparation
Surfaces must be sound, dry and free from grease, oil and other forms of contamination. Laitance and loose or flaking paint should be removed by wire brushing and swept clean. Cleaning is imperative and the best method is achieved by the use of Antel Concrete Cleaner.
8.2 Priming
The surfaces must be primed using Antel Epoxy Sealer and Adhesive - Vertical Grade. If the concrete is very porous a second application may be required. The Lightweight Mortar must then be applied before the primer has cured.
8.3 Mixing
Caution - The high build properties of Antel Epoxy Lightweight Mortar are achieved by the use of lightweight fillers and this material may be lost if the container is opened in windy conditions. Loss of this filler will seriously affect the high build properties.
Remove the tins marked Pack A and Pack B from the container and replace the lid.
Dry stir the aggregates. Pour the entire contents of Pack B into Pack A into a suitable power mixer and mix thoroughly. Add the aggregate in small quantities until fully incorporated.
8.4 Application
Apply the mixed mortar to the primed surface within 45 minutes of mixing, using a steel trowel to produce a smooth, flat, compact surface.
Where expansion/construction joints exist, the must not be covered but provision made to bring them through to the surface level.
8.5 Curing
Pot life at 20°C = 45 minutes approx.
Initial cure = 24 hours approx.
Full cure = 7 days approx.
8.6 cleaning tools
Immediately after use, tools should be cleaned using Antel Cleaning Solvent.
