Technical Data Sheet
1. DESCRIPTION
Antel Stonetone is a high strength coloured cementitious repair material. It is a two part system, complete and ready for mixing without any additions.
2. USES
2. Overhead Stone Repair.
3. High Build Stone Repair.
4. Lightweight Render.
5. Lightweight Water Resistant Render.
6. Lightweight Castings.
Due to the nature of the formation and varied colouration of natural stone it is virtually impossible to blend a partial face repair. Any repair should be carried out to the entire face of each individual stone using a Stonetone colour selected to blend in with facade.
3. PACKAGING
A two part product Pack ‘A’ and Pack ‘B’ each containing 2.5kg, making a total of 5kg of mixed material.
4. COVERAGE
5 kg will cover approximately 0.7m² at 6mm thickness.
5. STORAGE
Store in cool dry conditions in original containers. Protect from freezing. Keep out of reach of children.
Shelf life of 12 months (unmixed) in original containers.
6. PROPERTIES

7. CURING
Workability 30 minutes
Surface Cure 75% R.H. N/mm²
4-5 days
28 Day Cure 20 N/mm²
8. TIMINGS
Mixed material should be applied whilst the adhesion promoter and rust inhibitor still have a tacky surface normally not later than 30 minutes after the application of the Adhesion Promoter.
9. HEALTH & SAFETY
The materials used within the Q-Mix and Stonetone ranges are generally considered non-toxic and harmless; however, common sense dictates that certain precautions are taken.
Adhesion Promoter Liquid pack is based on a synthetic emulsion and is therefore sticky. Contamination on the skin should be washed off immediately with clean water. It is mildly alkaline and splashes to the eyes will cause irritation. Rinse immediately and seek medical attention should irritation persist.
Stonetone A packs are based on similar materials and although splashes are unlikely the same precautions and procedures should be followed.
Stonetone Powder packs are all based on Portland cement. This is a fine powder, alkaline material which can cause severe irritation if it gets in the eyes. Wash with copious amounts of water and if irritation persists seek medical advice.
10. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
10.1 preparation.
All unsound material must be removed from the area to be repaired. This may be carried out by any of the usual means. E.g. hammer and bolster, point tool, needle gun etc. After such preparation has been completed the repair area should be carefully wire brushed to remove any loose and friable material and present a clean surface suitable for the application of the Stonetone.
10.2 priming
q-mix adhesion promoter and rust inhibitor
The normal method of application for this material is by the use of a moderately stiff paint brush of suitable size. This product has been carefully designed so that it can be used for up to 40 minutes after mixing and will provide a suitable tacky surface to accept the mortar repair for up to 30 minutes after application.
The surface of exposed concrete or stone should be damped with water prior to priming with this product. Ensure that no free water remains ad this will merely serve to dilute the material and may detract from its performance.
10.3 mixing.
Stonetone may be mixed by hand in a suitable vessel but the preferred method is by use of a forced action mixer.
Whatever mixing method is employed the following rules should be adhered to:-
1. It is usually easier to add the powder pack to the liquid pack gradually.
2. The entire contents of both packs must be used.
3. Nothing else should be added at any stage.
4. Where a mixing machine is being employed it should not be left running once the full mix has been achieved.
5. Mixing should continue until a homogeneous material has been produced.
6. Wash out the mixing vessel and tools with clean water immediately after use.
10.4 application.
Stonetone mortar remains usable for at least 30 minutes at normal temperature.
Stonetone should be well compacted into the previously primed cavity and the surface trowelled smooth and level using a clean steel trowel.
Where the full depth of a cavity cannot be filled at one application, the surface of the first application should be scored to produce a mechanical key and a coat of Adhesion Promoter should be applied before subsequent applications are carried out. The surface may be textured to blend with surroundings.
